The colors in this composition grabbed my attention. Also, the patterns on the pavement under the bus, although you can't see them too well. I'll have to ride over there and take some close-up shots to illustrate. The pavement in this area in Scottsdale is all curvy and patterned, colored and swoopy. And that cheery green bus just makes me want to ride it, even though I have my bike. Just try it out, you know, to go places, do things, see people. Or go bike shopping. Mmmm, city bike.

I've been seeing that new livery on the buses I ride in Tempe lately. Let's hope it's adopted throughout the entire metropolitan area.
ReplyDeleteDavid, I think this livery indicates that the bus is a New Flyer DE60LFR articulated bus, which is a diesel-electric hybrid vehicle.
DeleteNo bike racks on buses over here......We do have some colourful buses though ...!!

The last year that saw statistics for, there were over a million bicycle boardings in one year in Phoenix. Our bus bike racks are pretty popular!
DeleteIf the bike racks on the bus are full, are you allowed to bring the bike on board?
ReplyDeleteSteve, those are 3-bike capacity racks, a model called "Sportworks Trilogy". It's a very popular model. If a cyclist finds a Sportworks Trilogy full to its 3 bike capacity, said cyclist is supposed to wait for the next bus.
DeleteHey, JRA, speaking of city bikes, my understanding is that the distributor for Pashleys, for the entire western U.S., is right up on Northern and 16th Street in Phoenix!
