Have You Ever Really Looked at a Duck?

So noble in bearing, so graceful in form
Ever faithful, steadfast of habit, a swimmer of renown, diver, tricky coloration
Power in repose, grace under pressure, a mix of bold and subtle coloration

Have you ever really, really looked at a duck?

    1. Although I once had heavenly Peking duck (at a Tianjin kaoya dian), and once cooked a very good version with 40 cloves of garlic, I tend to not seek out duck to eat, for some reason.

  2. Actually, yes, but they were stuffed and mounted. My dad was an avid hunter.

    1. I always liked the duck decoys, and the intricately carved wooden duck models, more than the stuffed ones. Of course, in terms of photogenicness and coolness, ducks can't hold a candle to loons. If it was allowed, I would decorate the house with beautiful carved loons. But alas, not allowed.

  3. Have you ever really looked at a Muscovy Duck crossing a road a block from the water? I'm not sure I would choose any of the same captions...

  4. He looks like he is smiling, just like we do when we ride out in the open.
