I think that is a great B&W shot..!
At first I thought this was a close-up of a car tire mark in gravel, then I saw the bike - its like a "Where's Waldo?" pic!
I like mountain biking, but midwest mountain biking where there's more dirt than rock. I don't find rock a lot of fun. Still, the photo is inspiring and does make me want to go find new places to ride.
Thanks Trevor. PaddyAnne, I hadn't thought of the "Where's Waldo?" aspect until you mentioned it, and now I feel I should have titled the post something along those lines. Apertome, I tend to agree, river rocks like that tend to roll, being smooth, round, and rolly. They do that when you drive 4WD vehicles on them, too. And smash your oil pan. OUch. Scars. Bygones. Moving on.
Regardless, it's a cool shot. Like a lot of such, it lends itself to multiple levels of interpretation.
Heh, heh! See how easy it is to get outstanding FREE pics to use as backgrounds for yer computer or your Droid?Just steal 'em from John Romeo Alpha's blog!Oops! You did't see that, did ya, JRA?
BluesCat, it would be fantastic if anyone used my pics for wallpapers! Go for it. I do not wish for others to sell or otherwise make money off my words or pictures, but the thought of someone grabbing one just because they liked it makes me feel warm all over.
