He SHOULD pull over, stop, say a warm "HELLO FRIEND!" and yield complete and total possession of the walk to the ped with ample time and space to permit a peaceful and safe passage. Not sure he WOULD do that, though. 85 mph did seem a bit fast for that residential area. A nice Maserati did pass me, though, which explained it, since I only saw one 85.
